From a small group of volunteers in 2014 to a registered charitable organisation supporting children at GMCH-32, Chandigarh.
A small group of individuals came together to support infrastructure needs at Post Graduate Institute (PGI), Chandigarh. Initial support included wheelchairs, stretchers and other infrastructure requirements.
As more people joined, the group identified another critical problem: children receiving treatment whose families could not afford medicines and diagnostic tests. The group began working with the Pediatrics department of Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH-32), Sector 32, Chandigarh.
After operating as an unregistered community group for several years, ABCD was formally registered as a charitable organisation under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) at SAS Nagar, Mohali.
ABCD's core work focuses on supporting children receiving treatment through GMCH-32's Pediatrics department — providing medicines, diagnostic tests and medical equipment to families who cannot afford them.
To ensure that financial hardship does not prevent children from accessing essential medicines, diagnostic tests and medical care.
A world where every child can access the care they need, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.
ABCD is guided by eight governing members who oversee the organisation, review requests and coordinate support.
